Constipation is a situation which causes suffering and influences your life wherever you go. A disadvantage of constipation is that it also effects you health: Toxins in your system reenter your body forming a threat for your health on the long run.


For you as an individual or if you have a family history of constipation it would be a big step in improving your health by changing this constipation pattern.



In this article I will give you some proven remedies that I have applied and observed in my profession and in my home based business.

It is recommended to also see your physician and check if you have irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, colitis or too low thyroid. or any other underlying disease.


Chronic and occasional  constipation.

In this article I make a difference in two kinds of constipation : The chronic and the occasional  constipation. They will both be discussed here. The end of this article will have a chapter on baby constipation/ constipation infant. For you  parents who have questions on this issue.

Occasional  constipation


When you have an occasional or incidental constipation, you need to clean out the “residues” in your system: Take  4 ounces of prune juice with 4 ounces of magnesium citrate. My friend Marie calls this “The Bomb” because a few hours after you’ve taken

this drink you will “explode”. Or take 8 ounces of magnesium citrate if you do not want to take prune juice.


First signals of constipation


When you feel the first signals of constipation start to use 2000 mgr of vitamin C with electrolytes every hour for 4 hours of more, till you start having a loose stool. (By the way this works also against headaches and to boast up your immune system, especially when you go on a liquid diet/ vegetables juices for 24 hours.)

Repeat this any day you wish. Sometimes it might take 6-8 times to start releasing your toxins.

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Eat a lot of vegetables, fruit and grains; avoid white flour products, like white bread and pastas and sodas.

Try to obtain an original kefir culture and drink 200 cc daily twice a day.

Test if your thyroid is too low  .(see below)

Chew your food well and do not drink fluids with your food                

(this disturbs digestion).


 Take time for your bathroom ritual, do not be in a hurry. Avoid stress, let go ….Let go of old belief systems, why not,  you've got  nothing to loose, just "old" stuff.


You can also try one of those to start with and note what works for you.  


1. Kefir, 200 cc kefir a day twice, a.m and p.m.


2. Psyllium, good fiber and detoxification but be sure to add multivitamins as psyllium removes vitamins from your body too.


3.Aloe Vera juice cup twice a day.


4. Old fashioned oat milk with rice milk, no sugar please.


5. Take flaxseed 2 tablespoons a day and or at least 2 tablespoons of olive oil daily. This will supply you with the right amount of Omega 3 and 6. See also my healthy breakfast recipe


If you have constipation the underlying cause of your constipation might be that you have a yeast infection. There is a simple home test that you can do to find out if you have a yeast infection.

Thyroid test. (home test)


Sleep during the night. The test does not work if you get up in the night or go to the bathroom. When awake and still in bed take your temperature rectally. Do this for 3 days in a row. Record the temperatures. Normal reading would be between 97.8-98.2 Fahrenheit. Reading below 97.8 would indicate hypothyroid activity. Above 98.2 would indicate hyperthyroid activity.

Other factors, which can influence the thyroid, are malnourishment, thyroid and pituitary exhaustion due to too much caffeine, sugar, alcohol and other stimulants.

If you thyroid is too low start with 4- 9 capsules of kelp each day. For 3 week. After this period take 3 capsules of kelp 3 times a day for 3 month. Retest yourself again.
